Of great interest and for me to read further and see what impact it has.

Initial thoughts while reading
So, 10 principles in total to base usage of AI technologies in public sector upon. Sounds almost like the forging of the 10 rings in Tolkiens masterpiece.
It also sounds impossible for this to not be a document that is under constant change with the speed of advancement in the area.
Principle 1 mentions AI systems currently lacking reasoning and contextual awareness. I wonder how long until that needs re-written!
Principle 2, are we going to need to keep AI lawyers on hand to ensure everything we do meets standards?
Bias of the models is inevitable. If we are looking at a full internet based content model it will be horrendously biased in the past few years with rise of extreme views amongst the most vocal on the web. Would choosing data models based on what you want to achieve be just as biased as basing the development off of an all inclusive model.
Principle 3, knowing how to use AI safely. If the current state of funding in local government is to continue how can they possibly train the people who woud use these tools. It needs centrally funded training and development of the staff with a drive from central government to deliver.
Principle 6, I do appreciate the principles being prepared to say that AI will not always be the solution to the need. With AI being the new buzz that everyone is trying to build into any system it can be it is good to have something suggesting to consider the possibility of whether it is needed in the instance you are working on.
Fields of AI – the spider diagram is fascinating to see how far AI spreads out. What we see as front end users of things like CoPilot are like looking at an iceberg floating above water without seeing the great underneath form.
ML – are we going to ever see a model which contains all of the countries laws and rulings so when we want to do something it can advise if we are sticking within regulations?
