As always a slow walk with the couple and plenty of laughter ensured they were relaxed and enjoyed the evening.  For all Ben was nervous about being in front of a camera he took it all in his stride and was a very natural model for the shots.

It is with great pleasure that I have to say I am now a recurring poster on the wonderful Blackstar Rising website.

My blog relating to Project Management for Photographers has now been expanded and will be appearing as regular articles on the site.

An excerpt from the first of many posts -

“Photography” — the process of capturing a split second in time on film or in a digital file.

“Project management” — the process of managing a project from beginning to end.

For many photographers, the second of these processes is an afterthought. But to produce your best work and create and maintain a successful photography business, a disciplined approach to project management can make all the difference.

At the beginning of June I was whisked away to North Yorkshire to shoot the images for a new brochure promoting Sandburn Hall Golf Course.  I estimated I would be finished by 11am as I was arriving at 7am.

Oh was I wrong!  I had been there to shoot weddings before but never to actually go around the over 250 acre course!

Even with the aid of a golf buggy come 3.30pm I was still there shooting away.  What I hadn’t factored into my preparations was the need for sunblock and I am still suffering from the burns I got!!

All of it was more than worth it and if you view below or click through to the gallery you can see a small sample of the great set of photos produced on the day.

On a blazing hot day Meg and Dan, sweethearts since being teenagers tied the knot.

The day was a beautiful, happy, jovial affair with so many lovely personal touches to the event that there were nothing but smiles to be seen the entire time.  Though sweltering in mid twenties temperatures in a suit while photographing the day I had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of capturing the special event.

The interface is straightforward and asks a few questions such as body shape, height, personality, wedding style, etc. and then uses this data to filter down a database of thousands of dresses from a myriad number of designers. The information is all provided by the website ‘theknot.com’ and also provides information and tips on choosing your ideal dress.

All in all well worth looking at. Just search on the app store and best of all it is free.

Snow still lay on the ground and it was a treacherous journey on ice covered roads but this all was forgotten in the warmth and laughter of the couples wonderful wedding day.

After that it was time to explore the sea front with the image below being just one of the gorgeous images I managed to capture as we begin 2010.  (Click the image to view the full gallery)
